CATEDRAL METROPOLITANA DE CURITIBA (Praça Tiradentes)

Catedral de Curitiba

A Catedral Basílica Menor de Nossa Senhora da Luz de Curitiba fica na Praça Tiradentes. É um dos mais importantes patrimônios culturais da cidade. Construída de 1876 a 1893, em estilo neogótico, segundo o projeto do arquiteto francês Alphone de Plas. Ocupa o mesmo local da antiga matriz do século 17, bem como o da sua sucessora, construída em 1720.
Como suas antecessoras, a Catedral é dedicada e abriga a imagem de Nossa Senhora da Luz dos Pinhais, Padroeira de Curitiba. É Catedral Basílica Menor desde 8 de setembro de 1993, quando completou 100 anos.
